Support South Sound Titans Swim Team with Earl's Forbidden Ward give away!

In celebration of the Earl's Forbidden Ward release March 1, I am giving away copies of this second Ramsden Brother book to sponsors of the South Sound Titan Swim Team Annual Swim-a-thon Jan. 24-Feb.14th.

Send in a $10.00 minimum flat rate pledge for the swim-a-thon and I'll send you an autographed copy of The Earl's Forbidden Ward.

The Titans are a nonprofit private, competitive swim team that is entirely self supporting. The Titans rely on two fundraisers a year to support pool rental and coaching salaries; a dinner-auction gala and the swim-a-thon.

The swim-a-thon consists of swimming as many laps as you can in two hours. Rowan can swim 200 lengths and Catie can swim 100+ (which is why I don't recommend pledging by lap but pledging a flat rate fee no matter how far they swim. )

If you choose to take part, do these three things:
1. leave a comment here on the blog so I can set aside a book for you. Let me know how you'd like it autographed and the address to which it should be sent. It's fun to get one for a friend and have it show up in their mail box as a special valentine, or secret pal surprise. I will cover all domestic postage as my gift to you for participating.

2. Make the check out to the South Sound Titans Swim-a-thon. Send to Bronwyn Scott, C/O greyhaus literary agency 3021 20th St. Pl S.W. Puyallup, WA 98373

3. Sit back and relax--your book will arrive at its destination no later than Feb. 30th and your sponsorship is tax deductible as a charity donation.

All my best,
Bronwyn

I've been meaning to email you...we're in for .15 cents a lap for both kids! We hope they have a great time!

Have a good week!
Cheryl

p.s. I've already pre-ordered this via my Kindle....so, no need to ship a copy. You can donate my copy to that cool auction that you guys participate in every year.
I'm in! The check is on the way. Best of luck in the fund-raiser and I can't wait to get my copy.

Just sign the book for me (Lateia) and mail it to the address on the check.

Great, creative way to help the team.

Advent give away here today!

It's Dec. 20th. (Although I did post this late Wed. night since I'm on Pacific Standard Time). Today's your chance to win a copy of  "A Sinful Regency Christmas," it's only available in British stores right now, so North Americans this is your chance to win something special! A signed copy that no one else can have unless they order it on Amazon.  To win, leave me an answer to this question: What are the names of the hero and heroine in my short story featured in the Sinful Regency Christmas anthology? For a hint, if you scroll through the blog (check the Dec. 2011 archive) and find the post regarding the story "An Illicit Indiscretion" you'll have the answer. There's probably other ways to find it too.... Looking forward to picking a winner! Bronwyn

Day 4 of the Viscountdown!: The Bickford Fuse

On p. 185 in Chapter 14, Valerian and Phillippa and her brother, Beldon, have a dinner conversation about a man named Bickford who is patenting a new kind of fuse for blasting in the mines. Valerian and Beldon decide to ride over the next day and talk with him about his invention. The Bickford fuse was a big step forward for mining safety since it took away a significant amount of risk miners faced when lighting the traditional reed fuses. Bickford did exist, he did craft this fuse and did design his own production line for mass producing that fuse in the 1830s.
