Beautiful new cover for the Earl's Forbidden Ward

Just got the lovely cover for the North American March 2010 release of the Earl's Forbidden Ward. It's rich in color and quite tastefully riveting. This is Peyton's story, the second in the Ramsden brothers series. Crispin's story is due out in August. The Earl's Forbidden Ward has been out since June in the U.K. but finally makes an appearance in the US this March.

To celebrate, there's an Undone! coming out in February featuring a friend of Peyton's (the sexy Killian Redbourne). He and Peyton journey down to Herefordshire for the reading of a relative's will...check out the Undone! In Februrary to see what happens in Wicked Earl, Wanton Widow.

Day 4 of the Viscountdown!: The Bickford Fuse

On p. 185 in Chapter 14, Valerian and Phillippa and her brother, Beldon, have a dinner conversation about a man named Bickford who is patenting a new kind of fuse for blasting in the mines. Valerian and Beldon decide to ride over the next day and talk with him about his invention. The Bickford fuse was a big step forward for mining safety since it took away a significant amount of risk miners faced when lighting the traditional reed fuses. Bickford did exist, he did craft this fuse and did design his own production line for mass producing that fuse in the 1830s.
